Facebook is an imperfect tool to write about politics. Some people reasonably don't want to see constant political posts on their feeds. I like to post responses and share newspaper articles but have started this blog to provide an outlet for my thoughts, that people need to seek out. I suppose I'll start out by posting my perspective on politics itself.
Politics are a necessity. Because we live in society we need rules to prevent us from harming each other. I generally agree with Social Contract theory by Thomas Hobbes. The larger the society the more distinct the views. Eventually society gets so large that representatives are needed to express views on a national level. We have an obligation as memebers of our society to understand our rights and responsibilties. The benefit if you live in a free society is that we can enact change that reflects our own opinions.
